This past several days I have enjoyed eating with some of God’s finest followers. Eating together is a special type of relationship. In fact Jonathan Gainsbrugh calls dining together the “new relational sacrament.”
Be encouraged to embrace the sacrament of dining together with someone in the next few days.
I enjoyed a burrito at Azteca in Fairbanks with Duane and Joy.
Cajun Chicken Fetuccini with Brother and Sister Garrison in Anchorage.
It was a Cowboy Burger with Bob and Kathy in Springfield.
Possibly the best Filet Mignon I have ever tasted with Randy Hurst in Springfield.
Dinner with Mark, Ethan, Luke, and Seth Flattery after Seth’s baseball game, was a Prime Rib wrap (Springfield).
Followed by Andy’s Famous Custard. (Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic.)
God’s presence was marvelous at the Flames of Fire Conference hosted by the New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in North Pole, Alaska. The three day conference was designed to motivate the participants to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel” with Holy Spirit anointing and fire.
The first evening we were blessed and surprised to enjoy the presence of Bishop C.D. Williams. Bishop walks in a powerful anointing of the Spirit and ministers with effective love and power.
Host Pastor, Elder Odis McCormick, inspired each altar time with inspiration, motivation, and grace. Pastor McCormick has been the faithful pastor of New Jerusalem for many, many years.
I appreciate the invitation to talk at such a special conference.
Dave has just produced a video honoring our much loved, honored, and respected Ida Sheneman. Sister Sheneman, now with the Lord, inspired thousands to serve our God with complete loyalty, commitment, and joy. Our congregation owes the Sheneman’s gratitude that we could never adequately supply.
How do you thank someone for giving you hope, faith, and belief?
Assistant General Superintendent Alton Garrison, inspired the Council audience with messages designed to inspire hope. Who could leave the Council without hope after hearing brother Alton open several hope passages in Romans?
Additionally brother Alton motivated us to continue to do our part in the Great Commission. “Everyone can do their part.” In fact, everyone must do their part. The evening missions offering was one of the largest offerings in recent Council memory.
Our newest leadership team members, Tracy and Pam, enjoyed leading the worshipers at the District Council in a season of prayer and celebration. We are exceedingly blessed to welcome people of such anointing, calling, talent, giftedness, and grace to our leadership team.
Pastor Pam is the vocalist on the right.
Tracy playing the piano and vocalizing praise to God.
Pastor Fay is now officially the Central Section Presbyter of the Alaska District Council of the Assemblies of God. She is breaking new ground by being the first (to my knowledge) female presbyter in the history of our District.
We feel that she is perfectly prepared by God for this ministry opportunity and will excel in anointing and the favor of the Lord.
Three ministers with connections to the MCA worship family were honored today in a memorial service at the Alaska District Council of the Assemblies of God. Each woman was honored with a presentation of their life story, flowers, and singing.
Kim, our women’s ministry coordinator, was recently named Volunteer of the Year for Begich Middle School. Kim, in the center of the picture below, is a totally awesome sister in our church family.
The new Superintendent of the Alaska District Council of the Assemblies of God is Superintendent Elect Bill Welch. Please be in prayer for the transition process and for the hand of God to rest upon both Superintendent Boatsman and Superintendent Elect Welch. One of the trickiest components of any relay race is the exchange of the baton. Let’s pray for God’s blessing upon the baton exchange.
We rest and celebrate in the knowledge that God has good things in store for everyone involved.
Join me in congratulating Pastor Gary Morton of Anchorage First Assembly of God in being elected as our new Assistant Superintendent of the Alaska District Council.
It was a sort of humorous situation. Gary and I were the last two names on the ballot. Although unplanned, on each vote I voted for him and he voted for me. So I lost the election but my candidate won. He one the election but his candidate lost. Pretty cool deal.
Paula and I couldn’t be happier. Gary and Alice are very dear personal friends and totally sold out to Jesus. We will follow them where ever God leads them to lead us.
