For all of you who make the MCA weekends powerful and memorable and life transformative, I say thanks.  Thank You!

]]> http://blog.mcaonline.org/?feed=rss2&p=3657 1 Our LIFE Group is Launched http://blog.mcaonline.org/?p=3624 http://blog.mcaonline.org/?p=3624#comments Wed, 02 Jun 2010 04:27:23 +0000 Kent http://blog.mcaonline.org/?p=3624 The Redfearn family has welcomed summer by launching our second annual LIFE Group.  Hula Hoops, Basketball, Football, and avoiding the Momma Moose with the two calves, was the fun of the evening.  The food options included tons of desserts and grilled cheese sandwiches grilled over the briquets in the grill.  YUM rings a bell (except for the few i totally burned).

Joelle, with a memory like an aardvark (or is it elephant?), reminded us that “we had smore’s every LIFE Group last year, even the first one.”  So, off to the store J-man went to buy smore’s ingredients.  Once there he totally forgot his mission, but he did return with Marshmallows.  Joelle was not totally happy, but found the Marshmallows to bring a smile to her countenance.

Getting to know each other outside of the church building, digging deeper into  the weekend talk, and praying for each other,is a fresh deal.  I loved it.

Every Friday evening, this summer, we will be cranking up the fire pit and talking good talks.  Come on over.

Our time together in the weekend services will be designed with a living room feel.  It won’t be church as usual, but it will be powerful, I believe.

We think that people who do not regularly attend weekend worship, those who have never attended, and consistent members will all benefit from the services.  In fact, some of you will want to attend both the 9:15 and 11:15 series of services.

Maybe your mother has been praying for you to trust in Jesus for salvation.  Do so, in answer to her prayers.  I know some of you have been resisting water baptism even though your mother has been praying that you will be baptized in water.  Answer her prayers and follow the Lord in water baptism this Mother’s Day.

80 people gathered for the very first service and were filled with a sense of expectation and joy.  By God’s grace, I will be able to speak there on Sunday afternoon.  I am also looking forward to speaking at a youth retreat on Friday evening and a leadership team meeting on Thursday evening.
