Josie Baptism

She met our Savior through the 2009 drama Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames.  Element became one of her primary venues for weekend worship where she learned the principles of Jesus.  Hart and Kelly helped in the discipleship process.  Element Worship Pastor Tracy Hodges baptized her in water.  I love the links in one’s spiritual journey.

Calling Levi: WOW!

Talk about glorious.  The kind, gentle spirit of the group, accompanied by their prayers, made their excellent music a delight.  I love music that inspires me to stand.  Not just a performance of quality but one of huge inspiration.  Sort of like one’s response to a hockey goal.  You don’t plan it.  You don’t rationalize [...]

Transition for a Trans-generational Ministry

Our worship community loves the ministry of Alan Ross. Alan’s ministry is always a fresh and invigorating word of hope and favor. Today he launched a five part series on transitioning for a trans-generational ministry. Specifically, we began to understand the promises of God to Moses were received by Joshua.
Joshua 1:1 sets [...]

Fall LIFE Group Sessions

The core of the MCA ministry is quickly becoming our LIFE Group gatherings.  LIFE Groups gather in homes, restaurants, and classrooms throughout south central Alaska.  In these life-giving groups we do life together.  The weekend talk is our LIFE Group topic and relationships are the group methodology.
Sign up for LIFE Groups is just a couple [...]

Fair Today

MCA Youth Director, Howard Hansen, found a way to get 70 MCA-ers to the fair.  The weather was beautiful and folks were enjoying themselves a great deal.
Every youth event requires a strong team of adult sponsors.  Special thanks to all of the servants who serve in the various student ministries.  Your service is a blessing.

Come and Dine

We have been learning, for several years, what Jonathan Gainsbrugh means when he says, “Eating a meal together is a new relational sacrament.” Relationships flourish when people are comfortable enough to come together around a dinner table.  In fact, there are some great teachings about the role of being “at table” in the Bible.
Recently I [...]

Physically Fit

MCA, don’t forget the importance of caring for your body.  We give our body the best care we can and trust the Lord with the rest.  Eat right.  Sleep properly.  Get plenty of fluids.  Get your heart rate in your target zone.  Become flexible.  Add strength.
Then to that add the spiritual components of a powerful [...]

An Heroic Heritage and Our Phenomenal Future

Our past is glorious and our future bright.  God has been faithful beyond our fondest imagination and he continues to open doors for MCA’s development and ministry growth.
Built upon the faith and diligent labor of people like the Leisy, Sheneman, Fick, Smith, Glandon, Andrus, Brown, and Peroneus families.  Our heritage is prolific.
It is our turn [...]

Missionary Darrell

31 years ago the Assemblies of God in Alaska sent out our first full time foreign missionaries.  Darrell and Dianne left the Great Land for ministry in Indonesia.  You should hear the stories of God’s faithfulness for the past 31 years.  Currently Darrell and Dianne are ministering to Indonesians in Europe and are teaching 11 [...]
